  • Request: Juma would like to improve the reporting on how many dollars we need to raise and for what programs or locations if possible.
  • Expectation: Volunteer will review current reports, classification structure and desired reporting. They will determine how best for the grantee to achieve the desired reporting. If time and skills allow, they will help the grantee implement the recommended solutions.

    Introduce yourself! Tell your grantee what you do at NetSuite, how long you’ve worked for the company, previous relevant experience, and anything else that you think will help develop the relationship.       • Help break cycle of poverty by helping youth achieve a 4-year       college degree, assist in getting financial aid, academic support.
      • Juma also owns several businesses that employ these kids to       help save money for college. Juma will match the kid’s savings on by a       2:1 ratio

     

    • What      is your role within the organization?
      • Jared is the Chief Financial Officer

    • How      long have you used NetSuite – what do you use it for? (don’t assume they      use the same instance of NS that you use)
      • Go live date was on October 1st 2013
      • Mainly used for core financials (reporting)

     

    • Who      else on your staff uses NetSuite?
      • Three other users in their accounting team uses NetSuite while       other Executives are planning to get access for reporting.

    Part Two: Project Specifications

      • Creation       of custom reports on       funding
      • Capture       funding commitments or initial pledges using sales order transaction

      • To be able       to run report on how many dollars are needed to raised and for what       programs or locations if possible.

    Define what is in Scope:

    • Describe the activities, deliverables/product, training and specific chunks of work that will happen
      • Setup custom report that will show the amount of funding that has been received and are still needed to be generated per program, per location.
      • Setup on dashboard for these reports/searches
      • Train end user on recording sales order and billing from sales order
      • For each task- try identify who will take the lead on that task, and when it will be completed

     

    Define what is out of Scope:

    • Describe things that will not happen or be included (especially any items that the grantee mentioned that you know you cannot deliver)
      • Data migration of historical funded values
      • Additional custom records

    • Demonstrate Sales Order Functionality and recording pledges
    • Train end user on invoice process from sales order
    • Review sales order reporting functionality and customization
    • Create saved search for dashboard
