Getting Started with NetSuite

 

You have recently gotten your NetSuite login information. Now what? This checklist is designed for individuals acting as NetSuite administrators with responsibilities for setting up and configuring NetSuite.

 

  1. Enroll in training for your software. Grantee Training Resources
  2. Set up users & their roles. Each role allows access to different parts of the system.
  3. Determine the scope of what you want NetSuite to do for you. Are there specific new business processes that you would like to implement in NetSuite? What existing business processes would you like to implement in NetSuite (are there reports, mailings, etc. you do today that you will need NetSuite to do)? Write your scope down.
  4. Determine you data entry standards and write down your policies and procedures.
  5. Import data into NetSuite. Imports of transaction level financial data should be avoided. Use opening balances or summary journal entries if historical reporting is required.
  6. Configure your NetSuite instance
