Special Grant Awards
NetSuite.org considers providing special grant awards to grantees that need a way of reducing the total cost of their NetSuite-based technology project to an affordable level for the organization. Special grant awards must be requested through your account manager and are considered on a rolling basis. Special grant awards are not final until the grant award agreement is signed by both NetSuite.org and the grantee.
Your NetSuite.org regular donation is designed to make a NetSuite-based technology project affordable for the vast majority of organizations. Special grant awards extend the benefits of your NetSuite.org product donation in extraordinary cases where your NetSuite.org product donation is insufficient to make a NetSuite-based technology project affordable.
Understanding Special Grant Awards
Special grants are awarded for two purposes:
- To reduce an overall project cost
- To free up resources for specific program expenditures
Overall project cost special grant awards are evaluated by determining an "affordable budget" baseline for a project. That baseline is comprised of the subscription cost (cash), the services cost (cash) and the staff cost (hours). The special grant award reduces the subscription cost line item to make the overall project affordable to the grantee, if possible. They are not cash awards and cannot defray services or staff costs.
Program special grants reduce NetSuite annual subscription costs. Money that would otherwise be spent on NetSuite subscription costs can be spent of specific program objectives. We treat these grants as unrestricted operating support, but we make the invstment based on the projected social impact enabled by the special grant award.
